Our next show:
29th October to 1st November 2026
Another show has come to an end; we hope you enjoyed it as much as we did!
Due to the success of our 2025 show "Wild West" (check out some of the production photos here), we are extremely proud that we raised £4000. That means that both PHAB and No.1 Lavender Fields were each presented with a cheque for £2000 after our final evening performance of 2025.
Preparations have now started for our 2026 show, which will be from October 29th to November 1st. We’ll be fundraising throughout the year too, so keep an eye out for us.
Our current cast are already hard at work on this year’s show. Singing and performing are incredibly good for your mental wellbeing and great social activities to do in a group of like-minded people who make you feel valued, welcomed and very much part of the family.
With this in mind, have you considered joining the cast this year to help raise money for local charitable causes AND live the dream of performing on stage? If so, then email us for further information at VarietyExpressShow@gmail.com
Our Community
Variety Express works with and for the community by supporting local charities, connecting audiences and providing great entertainment. The local charities supported by Variety Express are mainly those who do not enjoy national funding, usually having a personal connection to the cast, thereby keeping causes close to our hearts. For 2024, our supported charities were MNDA and Young Carers’ Crew, each receiving a donation of £3000. The charity for 2025 is expected to be announced shortly.
Theatre is a great form of entertainment, and our shows can be enjoyed by the whole family. It can also help to boost local businesses through sponsorship and advertising in the show programme.
Local theatre is therefore beneficial to not only the cast and crew, but also the wider community.
Our cast and crew
Variety Express is a platform that allows people to express themselves creatively and freely. Every cast and crew member is integral, all relying on each other as a supportive team and creating a family environment of like-minded people. By the end of show week, an incredibly special bond is formed, leaving members with a proud sense of achievement and community contribution.
Members learn how to solve problems, take constructive criticism, be disciplined and come up with creative solutions to unexpected obstacles.
Theatre can be a safe place where people can escape their daily cares for a short while and immerse themselves in something different. For someone that might be struggling with mental health, it can provide a sense of self esteem, value and achievement.
